In 2019, the KKR team placed in the 5th position. The home ground for Kolkata Knight Riders KKR is Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The KKR team has two IPL champion title in 2012 and 2014. In 2012, the Kolkata Knight Riders won the first IPL champion by defeating Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets. In 2014, the KKR team won the second IPL champion by defeating the Kings XI Punjab team by 3 wickets. The KKR team also qualified for playoffs in Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20). The Kolkata Knight Riders team founded in 2008. BCCI announced the Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament in 2007. When BCCI conducted the first time IPL auction on 20 Feb 2008 at Mumbai. The KKR team purchased at price 75 million USD dollar by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan beneath company Red Chillies Entertainment with co-partner Bollywood actress Juhi Chawal and her spouse Jay Mehta. The KKR team acquired by Shah Rukh Khan holds 55 percent stakes and Bollywood actress Juhi Chawal and her husband Jay Mehta, hold 45 percent stakes. In 2018, the estimated brand value of Kolkata Knight Riders at 104 million USD dollar, this is the second-highest brand value among all IPL franchises.
